アオダモの花
2012-05-16 Wed
玄関前に植えた「アオダモの木」が花を咲かせてくれました。

珍しい四枚の花弁の花で、花の数も少なく、地味に花をつけています。

横や下から見ても花は咲いているかどうか見落としてしまいそうです。

上から見ると写真のように咲いているのが良く解ります。

花の咲き方と言うのも、木によって大分違いがあります。ソメイヨシノは

葉が出る前に木々いっぱいに花をつけますが、花ミズキやアオダモは

葉をつけて花を咲かせます。

因みにアオダモは野球のバットを作る原木の一つで、非常に堅い木です。
